The Direct Seed & Cover Crop Project was started in 2017 to encourage and educate landowners in soil health and cover crop options.  The project consisted of purchasing 2 direct seed drills, providing cover crop suggestions and reimbursements, and a large educational component with field tours and workshops.  The project ended in 2023 but the districts continue to rent the direct seed drills to farmers and continue to encourage cover crop plantings.
