Direct Seed & Cover Crop Committee
The Direct Seed Committee served from 2014 through 2023.
The committee was made up of supervisors from all 3 participating
Soil & Water Conservation Districts: East Cassia, Minidoka, and West Cassia.
In 2023, the committee name was changed to the Tri-District Project Committee to accommodate a wider variety of goals and projects.
The purpose of the committee is to decide on ways to best use the funds provided in this project to help educate landowners in the use of no-till farming and cover crop practices. They sponsor events such as the Soil Health Workshop and Cover Crop Tours.
Sharon Hardy, Doreen McMurray, and Rachelle Osterhout are the administrative assistants from these districts that manage drill rentals, financial records, and meeting details.
The committee usually held 2-3 Direct Seed and Cover Crop Project Meetings a year but more or less were held as needed. Meeting agendas, and minutes are posted on the Agenda & Minutes page.
