Watercraft Inspector Positions Available:

The West Cassia Soil & Water Conservation District is seeking Watercraft Inspection Station Attendants. This job is seasonal and ends October 31st with an option for rehire in February.

A full season is Feb through Oct.

Positions Currently Available :

DAY SHIFT or NIGHT SHIFT 

18-39 Hours a week

 

The objective of the watercraft inspection station is to prevent aquatic invasive species such as quagga/zebra mussels from invading the waterways of our region.  In addition to inspecting and washing boats thoroughly, attendants must engage in education and boater survey information.  Station is located at Cotterell Rest Area near Yale Road exit on I-84 northbound.

 

Desired applicants must be self-motivated, hard-working, outgoing, work well with others.

  • Physical ability to crawl under boats and trailers.

  • Capable eyesight and touch needed to detect mussels.

  • Capable hearing to ensure safety due to traffic and noise at the job site. 

  • Knowledge of local lakes and rivers, boating issues and power washers is beneficial. 

  • Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from the station. 

  • Positions will require extensive training and personal accountability.

  • Must be 18 or older to apply.

  • Must have the physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
